Free Wheel North has teamed up with Glasgow's Towards Better Futures who are helping fund new and exciting job opportunity's with our organisation. The project aims to help and encourage young adults to gain employment, and to make their first step towards building a lifelong career. Here at Free Wheel North we have four, part-time positions now available to individuals aged between 16 and 24. BIKE MECHANIC
Glasgow Green
​
This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to begin their career path within the bicycle Industry.
We will provide one to one training in all aspects of cycle maintenance and the opportunity to gain
further qualifications as you progress within the role.
​
Key Responsibilities

Assemble and set-up bikes safely and correctly

Fit accessories as required
-
Develop extra sales through the workshop with the addition of parts and accessories

Bike building, repairs and servicing, ensuring the tasks are effectively completed according the
-
Instructions of the head mechanic

Keeping records of parts and orders
-
Be meticulous regarding quality & safety of all tasks conducted
-
Assisting with retail sales and telephone sales
-
Maintaining a safe and tidy workshop area, disposing of used parts and waste regularly

Maintaining a high level of customer service

CAFE ASSISTANTS

​
We have two positions available for a Café assistant with barista, catering and hospitality skills.
Key Responsibilities
-
Serving customers at the indoor counter and at the outdoor hatch in a friendly professional manner
-
Maintaining high standards of presentation and marketing in the Café area;
-
Preparing the counter, including freshly prepared items such as soup, coffee and baguettes;
-
Cleaning all areas of the café and equipment
-
Reporting customer feedback to the café Manager
-
Minimising wastage through careful working practices
-
Operating the till and card machine, dealing accurately with transactions and keeping cash secure
-
Preparing fresh food
-
Serving in the café and on the patio
-
Attending training sessions as directed by the cafe Manager

Attending meetings

Working with Volunteers

MEDIA ASSISTANT
Free Wheel North​
​
Working closely the social media manager to create engaging content for social media presence,
including keeping media channels updated and brand-focused, and seeking out new social media
avenues and ways of connecting with audiences.
​
Key Responsibilities
-
Adding content to company social media channels, including Facebook, Youtube,Twitter, and others
-
Engaging in social media presence creation on new and emerging social media platforms
-
Creating dynamic written and video content
-
Promoting audience interaction, presence on company sites, encouraging audience participation
-
Assisting social media team with projects, events, and community management
-
Help develop large social media campaigns
-
Analyses and reports audience information and demographics, and success of existing social media projects
-
Proposes new ideas and concepts for social media content
-
Works with marketing and social media team members to coordinate ad campaigns with social media strategy

Writes and distributes e-newsletters to subscribers

Help manage social media communications
