Learn how to ride a bike with Dream Team Kids | Cycling for Kids (youtube.com)

2nd September 2024
I’ve been dreaming of riding my own bike
My daughter says “mummy I want us riding together
I called up and was giving a date to come in on the Monday, it was so
fast! I didn’t think id be riding on the first day – you really did a good job
teaching me , I cant believe it, im so happy, just one lesson.
In other places you have to pay a fortune for them to teach you how to
ride. The gentlemen here are so good to teach you , they are so patient.
I’m so happy! Well done, well done well done!

“the most fund we have had in Glasgow” my 7 year old and 9 year old did declare. The staff are wonderful. I really do hope to volunteer

Thank you so and much for this opportunity to learn and play to try out new things. Our group was two at age 9, one at age 7 and one at 71, aye 71. And we all had a shot at everything. Your volunteers are patient and funny and helpful. The track is easy + lovely to see a proper opportunity for all nations, people with disadvantages and us old codgers. The kids loved the bogies.
Thanks again guys

Thank you to freewheel for having us today, all of our kids and mentors had a fantastic time cycling in the sun (and rain!) Without having this local and so affordable we may not have been able to take our kids on a trip this summer! We will be back!

What a great community project Free Wheel North is! This exactly the type of project that the local council should by supporting. It’s cheap enough for everyone to participate in, it is outdoors and encourages physical activity, and interaction with others in the community. As someone who lives in the Netherlands, I am shocked the local council does not give any support to such a worthwhile community project.

Hi Norman
I hope you’re well.
Thanks for such a welcoming session yesterday. The families had an excellent time and we’ll definitely include you in future holiday programmes. I’ve got an excellent picture of a dad having the time of his life. Once I get permission, I could share with you if you’d like.
Thanks again

The pupils from school had a brilliant time on their bikes. They were well supported, encouraged and safe. As pupils who speak English as a second language this was a very accessible and enjoyable way to spend time outdoors and keeping fit. I would love to see a cycle track in Springburn – it would be perfect for the community and much needed!

All the staff and volunteers and endlessly helpful, cherry, adaptive and promote inclusion and independence across the ethos of Free Wheel North. The support of our young people’s self-regulation, self-advocacy and independence has been second to none.

I am contacting you on behalf of the 77th Glasgow Disabled Scouts. We have historically had a wonderful evening with freewheelnorth [2023] and all of the Scout thoroughly enjoy the experience. I wish to enquire about using the service again for our last night before we finish up before our Summer break. We would be looking to book for Monday the 24th of June, 19:00 – 20:45. Please let me know if you require any further information.

I would love to see this service with more resources to allow them to continue serving the public in the east end of Glasgow. They contribute massively to reducing inequalities and providing a safe and welcoming place for the residents to take part with no constraints. The folk are wonderful who run this. Well done! May you continue to thrive and flourish.

Hello,
I am a primary teacher working within a nurture base within Miller Primary in Castlemilk. We have visited a couple of times now. Our children enjoy every aspect of the space, choices of things to ride, helpful staff. One of my children felt very anxious on the go kart and after a couple of tries is now fully confident! Our children always ask to come here when we are planning a trip out and the staff always make time to make us feel welcome. At times our children can become distressed or dysregulated and freewheelnorth never places judgement on any situation and always go the extra mile. We recently held a bake sale and our raised funds are for a donation to community cycle which we will be passing on at our next visit. Just wanted to pass on this feedback as it is well earned :)
Many Thanks

Thanks so much for keeping this facility going!

I was pointed in the direction of this wonderful charity by Cerebral Palsy Scotland while trying to source a trike for my three year old grandson over the Christmas period. What an amazing place! A cycle circuit in the middle of Glasgow Green which is fully accessible to those with disabilities. Staffed by an amazing group of people who are committed to making cycling inclusive for all. Everyone we met was friendly and helpful but also efficient and simply made things happen. The end result being one very happy boy out and about on a trike on his holidays. Fantastic! Thank you Norman and team, you are changing lives. I shall be spreading the word.
